Stereolab are inspired by a lot of avant garde arts and music from the past, and this is a homage to the surrealist movement of the 1920's, with singer Laetitia appearing as photographer and muse Lee Miller. A chance encounter in a cafe lead to someone from Survival Research Laboratories building the weird violin/gas mask monster for the video.
