Dream Baby Dream

It was a great pleasure to make the above 10 minute film for the Isis gallery, run by my favourite curator John Marchant.

That’s John indeed.

I’ve always loved Alan Vega‘s music and now John is curating an exhibition of Alan’s artworks to take place in London.

This is a photo of one of his light sculptures by Anne E Hubbard. Alan has been making these artworks longer even than he’s been making music, so it will be great to see them in the flesh when the show happens. The day the interview took place was just after Suicide had been supporting Iggy and the Stooges in London, and I had been lucky enough to see them play. They were the loudest support band I have ever seen… really!

I will post more about the show when I know about it, in the meantime here’s another picture of a very young Alan Vega with one of his lightworks.

And just because its excellent, here’s a clip I found on youtube of Jim Foetus and Marc Almond covering Suicide’s ‘Ghostrider’. Fabulous!
